Who Does the Work
Wisconsin Electrical Contractor

The state registration that permits WIL-Surge to carry out electrical work in Wisconsin. It is held by the business rather than by an individual, which is what makes the company, not just whoever turns up, accountable for the work.
Wisconsin Master Electrician

Every electrical job is completed by or under a Wisconsin Master Electrician, to National Electrical Code and Wisconsin Uniform Dwelling Code standards. It is the license the state holds accountable for the work, and it is why permits and inspections are part of the job here rather than something left to the homeowner.
Wisconsin HVAC Contractor

The state credential covering heating, ventilation and air conditioning work. Holding both this and the electrical registration is what allows a job that crosses the two trades (a heat pump needing a service upgrade, most obviously) to be one job here rather than two contractors coordinating around each other.
EPA Section 608 Certification
Our HVAC technicians are EPA-certified. This one is a legal floor rather than a distinction (federal law requires certification under Section 608 of the Clean Air Act for anyone who opens a sealed refrigerant system), but it is worth checking for, because not every company sending someone to your condenser holds it.
NATE Certification
Our HVAC technicians also hold NATE certification, from North American Technician Excellence. Unlike EPA 608, NATE is voluntary: it is an independent exam on how heating and cooling systems actually behave, and it is the credential that separates a technician who can install a piece of equipment from one who can work out why it is not performing.
Licensed, Bonded and Insured
WIL-Surge carries workers' compensation and liability coverage on every project, and has maintained continuous licensing since 1993. Commercial and industrial work is handled by our parent company, WIL-Surge Electric.

Every technician who comes to your home has passed a background check and is drug-tested. Crews arrive in marked WIL-Surge vehicles, and you are told who to expect when the appointment is booked rather than finding out at the door.
How the Work Is Done
Electrical work is carried out with the personal protective equipment the job calls for, and circuits are locked out and verified dead before anyone works on them. That practice comes from the commercial side of the business, where the consequences of skipping it are measured in arc-flash incidents rather than inconvenience — it does not get relaxed because the job is a house.
